Raising Funds and Realising our Potential

What have we been up to?

It has been some time since we last posted a news story on this site, but we have been exceptionally busy! Planning what your new museum is going to look like, which objects it will include and working with community groups and volunteers is a lot of fun, but also means we have struggled to update you via our Hidden Histories website. Apologies!

One aspect that we'd like to update you on is our recent successes with sourcing further funding for the project. If you visit our Support Us you will see that we have two new supporters. The Radcliffe Trust are supporting the project with £2500 towards the conservation and installation of the Elizabethan Wall painting. This important and beautiful object needs specialist mounting and framing and with their support it will take pride of place in the Museum Makers area in the new Museum. We have also received funding from the National Lottery Community Fund. This will support activity and the development of an exhibition with community partners on Oxford's LGBTQ+ heritage and communities. This exciting exhibition will open later in 2019 and will then feature in the new Museum.

Lots going on, keep visiting for further updates.
