Charles Dodgson, the real name of Lewis Carroll, oversaw the design of these Alice in Wonderland decorated biscuit tins.

Dodgson had 300 specially made and gave them to his child-friends on the occasion of his 60th birthday, in 1892.

This tin was given by him to Alice and was used by her family.
